Stephen Weigel Classic City of the Asleep; very microtonal while still groovy. Jason has a way of making tonic notes sound really concordant while making passing notes sound more xenharmonic by comparison. I think this heightens the effect of what xenharmonics are capable of musically in the extended present. Favorite track: Sichuan Pepper.

about

A post-modern semi-surrealist collection of bizarre songs, based on a dream. I saw the album art and the name in a dream and realized I had to create it. Originally released in 5 "phases" intended to be played in any order, with a video for each phase, I've decided to re-release in a more traditional format, because I think the original format was cumbersome and prevented any sense of flow. I may re-release videos for a few of the songs, but I felt that having 3 songs in the same video was a bit tedious. Tuning is 23edo.

about

City of the Asleep Portland, Oregon

Instrumental music, often blending glitch and EDM with surf, progressive rock, classical, and avant-garde experimentalism. Heavy doses of surrealism/absurdism. Sound-paintings, non-ambient dreamscapes. Frequently microtonal/xenharmonic!
