about

The very first entirely-microtonal album I ever recorded. Almost entirely done with the Native Instruments FM7 synth, so it sounds a bit on the cheesy side, but for the era it was actually pretty decent. Every track is in a different equal division of the octave, ranging from 9 to 28 (excluding 12 and 24), featuring different Moment of Symmetry scales. The time signature of each track has as many beats per measure as there are notes in the octave of that track's tuning.

about

City of the Asleep Portland, Oregon

Instrumental music, often blending glitch and EDM with surf, progressive rock, classical, and avant-garde experimentalism. Heavy doses of surrealism/absurdism. Sound-paintings, non-ambient dreamscapes. Frequently microtonal/xenharmonic!
